Pickup Bed Liners

Bed liners for pickup trucks have been around for a while.  The main purpose of a bedliner is to protect the paint and sheet metal of a pickup bed from getting damaged.  There are two main types of bedliners for pick up trucks.

The first type is the plastic bed liners that have been around for a long time.  The benefits of a plastic liner are they are light weight and they can easily be removed.  The disadvantage is they can be broken or cracked if submitted to the rigors of a work crew.

If you choose to get a plastic bed liner for your truck, be sure to buy one that is made for your specific model and year of truck.  This will provide a clean fit and better protection than using the wrong liner.

The other type of bed liner for pickup trucks is the spray in bed liner.  This is a newer type of liner that is permanent.  If you decide to get a spray in bedliner, be sure to purchase one from a reputable dealer that offers a guarentee. 

One of the benefits of a sprayin bedliner is it is permanent.  The material is sprayed over the existing paint of the bed.  If installed properly, the material will not come off know matter how hard you beat on your truck.  Another benefit of spray in bed liners is they can be sprayed in a color to match the paint of your truck. 

The disadvantage of a spray in bed liner is the initial cost is quite a bit more than a plastic liner.  Also if you have ever climbed in the back of a truck with a spray in bedliner, you know the material is rough, and it could easily scrape the skin off any part of your body that scuffs up against it.
